Welcome to the Comic Discussion thread! This is where you discuss the latest update if you're too cool for the official comments section. Obviously, there will be spoilers, so consider yourselves warned. Let's get started! Aww, Brendan's wistful smile in the last panel just kills me. Other than that, this is a pretty quiet update... Al getting up to speed on stuff we already knew or guessed. This is probably gonna be a pretty quiet thread for a while until updates come back on the 13th. So. Dance party?

'I should have listened to you from the start' That seems a loaded comment, could mean several things. I love older-Brendan with his little tummy and the same youthful face that says he might be older but he'd be acting the same enthusiastic kid given the chance. ---- Sooooooooo Dance party it is then *hands over a glass of questionable punch and starts embarassing 'dad-dancing' in the corner*

Thoughts on the new update:
As a couple people said in the comments, those lines might be cutting scars. It's kinda hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that stoic Al would harm himself, but after all, there's a lot he hides...No Al don't do it we love you.
This is just a wild guess, but maybe the reason why Al's wiring looks like the pre-Sterling style is that Al was working on plans to ressurect himself, but for whatever reason those plans went unused until 16 years later. I don't really know why that might happen, but it's the best guess I've got right now.
That picture Al's looking at looks like it's had the right edge torn off it. Someone cropped out of the photo, maybe? Hopefully the story on that will come out next update.

I love how much detail Blue puts on the comic: Al's scratching continues and plays with his emotions

:c poor Al and Brendan. And the look on Al's face at Brendan's admission breaks my heart.

Note to self and/or others: From now on I'm going to post a link to the current comic every update so that future readers can work out what on earth we're talking about. ohumanstar.com/chapter-3-page-59/Right, well, that went straight to the feels. Ugh poor Brendan that he would fear that Al would hurt himself that badly. Ugh poor Al that he actually hurts himself. But if Brendan didn't call the ambulance, who did?

ohumanstar.com/chapter-3-page-61/Aw, Sulla, you're killing the moment! Has anyone noticed, by the way, that Brendan tends to go to pieces in stressful or emotional situations while Al is incredibly clear-headed in crises? One of the many ways in which they are foils to each other. I'm also impressed by the fact that Brendan's phone can read his texts and add stuff to his schedule, but after all, it's the future. And who exactly is the blacked-out square? My personal theory is that it's Al's number, and Brendan couldn't bring himself to delete it after Al's death. Doesn't make sense that he'd keep the same phone for 16 years, but maybe he can transfer contacts.

that's an interesting theory. why would he be under the "suspects" category? IS THERE ANOTHER AL RUNNING AROUND? ? I mean Brendan DID say at the beginning of the comic "you're the most realistic one yet" MYSTERIES

Imagine meeting yourself. Repeatedly. That... that could be pretty ghastly.

ohumanstar.com/chapter-3-page-63/Another pretty quiet page. Silent in fact. Not much to say, but I love the way Blue draws trees and organic shapes. Oh, and Ty is a cutie.

That, and Ty apparently either spotted what famous figure is picking up the lass, or has feelings for Sulla as well. I thought it was feelings, until I looked hard at the expression and surprise at panel 2 near the top of the page. I'm... uh. Not so sure now. Thoughts?

ohumanstar.com/chapter-3-page-64/Hey, I just met you/And this is crazy... I love Brendan's Interested Parent Look. His baby's finally making some friends! Titus seems to be Vietnamese, if my shaky knowledge of Asian surnames holds up. I can't find a historical link between Titus and Sulla, but they're both Roman generals, so. Also, email appears to be done by IP address in the OHS-verse. Interesting!

"You still stand watch, O human star, burning without a flicker, perfect flame, bright and resourceful spirit. Each of your rays a great idea - O torch which passes from hand to hand, from age to age, world without end." -Karel Capek
I am amazed by this comic. Blue's got hold of something powerful and real and human here.
